Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
Memorial gift for my Miniature Memories Series
I wanted to create a stop-motion animation of Grandpa’s famous strawberry rhubarb pie.
He made this for every family gathering and I cherished the memories of getting to make it with him.
The Making Of
One of the tiny strawberry slices on the tip of an X-acto knife.
I made a clay cane of strawberries and then cut the individual slices.
How I animated each stop-motion frame. Using onion-skinning in Dragonframe.
Sewing a miniature hot pad. I need a smaller sewing machine.
This is what all the rigging and armatures looked like for this animation.
Hair gel to create the macerated fruit and allow it to be poured into the crust.
The pie before it was “baked” and my little oven hand-woven mitts.
