Giant Robot Gallery piece for ‘Small World’ Show 2025
I was asked by Giant Robot Gallery here in Los Angeles to participate in their gallery, “Small World”.
I wanted to create a cozy little bar for all the tiny insects. Representing a fictional small world they would inhabit.
This piece is made from a hand-sculpted acorn. L-wire flexible LEDs. Paper and clay pieces. All adding up for a warm and cozy vibe amongst the trees.
I temporarily installed the acorn bar in a local oak tree.
Seeing it in nature and swaying in the breeze was amazing.
The Making Of
Acorn formed from clay before paint. Forming and adding detail to custom paper roof.
Painted acorn with the dry brushed roof. Tiny paper maché mushroom stools and initial bar taking shape.
The bar insert with beetle bartender, beer taps and handmade green ceramic tiles.
